[Dalek Mod Suggestion] Random Armor Suggestions

Some suggestions on adding new armor types have been made in the past, but I haven't seen anything like this suggested before. As always, I apologize in advance if it has.

I:

Name: Sontaran Armor

Description: When the player wears a full set of this armor, they resemble a Sontaran (but are much taller). This armor offers a diamond-level protection, is a bit tougher than diamond, but has a lousy enchant-ability. It can be repaired with a Sontaran metal, if Sontar is ever added, or if Sontaran drops are ever expanded upon. When wearing a full set, the player is immune to damage from lava (suggested by drwhofan111), and fire. This armor is naturally projectile and blast-resistant, and therefore can't have these enchantments. When wearing a full set of this heavy armor, the player walks/sprints at a slightly slower speed.

Lore/Brief Background:  Worn by Sontarans, a clone species from the planet Sontar.

How Does The Player Obtain It?: It is only obtained when dropped by a Sontaran upon death (if/when they are re-added).

II:

Name: Ice Warrior Armor

Description: When worn by a player, they will resemble an Ice Warrior. This armor has three types of helmets: the traditional one, the non-jeweled 'elite' helmet, and the bejeweled 'Grand Marshal' Helmet. While most of its bio-circuitry wont work on the player, this armor will still protect the player from the cold, which is meaningless in Minecraft. If the player wears this armor in a warm biome (desert, savannah, mesa and any variants therein), they will get the slowness effect until they remove most of it. When approaching water in a non-warm biome, a full set of this armor will act like the 'Frost Walker' enchantment of 1.10+. When wearing a full set of this armor, the player can fire an Ice Warrior gun by right-clicking with an empty hand to aim (resulting in the bow animation), and releasing to fire. Each shot fired takes from the remaining durability of the armor. This armor is unrepairable, but can be crafted together to increase durability like all armor. This armor offers an iron-level protection, a diamond-level durability, and a gold-level enchant-ability.

Lore: Worn by Ice Warriors, this ‘bio-armor’ contained circuitry beneath its surface and acted as an additional nervous system for its wearer after it bonded with the cranium. This doesn’t work on the player, as stated earlier.

Obtain?: It is only obtained as a rare drop from Ice Warriors on death (if/when they are re-added), or can rarely generate in chests/on armor-stands on Ice Warrior Hives on Mars, or if any sort of other ice warrior ships/generated structures are added.

 III:

Name: UNIT Armor

Description: This armor has two types, one is the green military uniforms worn by the classic UNIT soldiers, the other is the not as good looking black uniforms worn in the new Series; each also contains its respective hat. The Brigadier’s uniform can be a special, rare variant of this armor. This armor isn't repairable. This armor offers between a leather and iron-level protection, an iron-level durability, and an iron-level enchant-ability. It isn’t very good armor, but can be used for role-playing.

Lore: This was the uniform worn by UNIT soldiers.

Obtain?: This can be obtained as a drop from UNIT soldiers (if/when they are re-added, hopefully with a purpose so that the player doesn’t kill them intentionally for their armor). It can also be crafted with green/black wool using the traditional method. The Brigadier’s armor generates randomly in village chests, or in UNIT bases, should they be added.

IV:

Name: Mandalorian Armor (This one’s just an easter-egg)

Description: When worn by the player, they will look like Jango Fett from Star Wars. Boba Fett’s beaten up, green helmet can be a second helmet to this set. This armor is unrepairable. It has a diamond-level protection, a better-than-diamond level durability, and a diamond-level enchant-ability. (Note, the Mandalorians had a lot of different gadgets in their armor, but since this is just an easter-egg, this armor will grant the player no special abilities).

Lore: Worn by Jango Fett/Boba Fett in Star Wars, as well as by members of Death Watch.

Obtain?: Can rarely be found in chests in Desert Temples.

 V:

Name: TimeLord/Time War Armor

Description: Armor resembling that worn by the TimeLords during the Time War. This is very rare/hard to obtain. This armor is designed to be more resistant to Dalek laser blasts than traditional armor, and therefore gives the player better resistance to projectiles, esp. dalek lasers, with each piece of armor the player wears. While wearing a full set, 50% of projectiles will bounce off of it. This armor has diamond level protection, better than diamond durability, and diamond level enchant ability. While it can't be crafted by the player, it can be repaired with a type of gallifreyan metal, if any is ever added.

An alternative type of armor is that worn by the Chancellery Guards in the citadel. While it does offer some protection, it is more of a vanity/role playing armor. This armor has only a between iron and leather level protection and durability. It would be pretty cool if this armor contained a cape when the chest-piece is worn.

Lore/Brief Background: Time War Armor was worn by the Time Lords when fighting in the Time War. The Chancellery Guard Armor was worn in the Classic Series by, you guessed it, the Chancellery Guard.

Obtain?Time War Armor can almost exclusively be obtained on Gallifrey. If a Time War Dimension is added, this armor can be found as rare drops from Time War TimeLords. In the citadel, some armor stands can generate with pieces of this armor on them. Crashed TARDISes can also very rarely generate containing pieces of this armor. The Chancellery Guard armor can only be found in the citadel, either on chests, armor stands, or as a rare drop from Guards.

If anyone has any ideas for additional armor types, I can add them into this post (credit given, of course).

A nice little idea I for the Sontaran armour is if you were completely resistant to lava (As long as you are wearing the full set). They can survive being in lava in the Audios, I found out they could do this in the visual trailer for 'The Sontarans' which is an audio story for the first Doctor.

Existing Armor type suggestions that I know of:

I've done Voord, Cybermen, and Davros.

Wodaman01 and, I think, the9doctor also suggested Ice Warrior Armor (although it was much different from your version)

As for the suggestion, I really like the ideas presented here

Sontaran Armor:

  • Overall, I like the way you balanced it. Tougher than diamond,  but not really able to get as good of enchantments
  • Gives a reason to engage against Sontarans
  • Does this have a weakness around the probic vent? (Or at least backs?

Ice Warrior Armor

  • Variants are cool
  • You've thought out its distribution of strengths/weakness
  • You've thought of original uses for  the armor (ie: the Frostwalker from 1.11 vanilla, the heat slowdown if in the armor)

Unit Uniform/Armor

  • Roleplay accuracy!

Mandalorian Armor

  • I would really love to see that as an Easter Egg myself, but it really is up to SWD XD

Thanks for the feedback Arc! As for the Sontaran Armor, I thought about giving it a weakness from behind, but I wasn't sure if this would even be possible to code. If it is, I'm all for it.

I didn't know that. This is now added to the armor's description, thank you.

The Dalek travel machine maybe?

Show content

Obtain: Kill a dalek with a special weapon, and the dalek travel machine stays.(You could also be the emperor :P)

Controls:

Left click: Dalek weapon arm   Shoot mobs, Break blocks (iron pickaxe, shovel, axe)(when breaking blocks you see a cool animation)

Right click: Plunger arm             Place blocks (actually shows the blocks holded)

Double space:  Flying                   Fly to the sky

The Dalek travel machine maybe?

Maybe only a special type of dalek can do this, ( because it would take too long to update every one )  and you'd have to use a special tool not to KILL the dalek, but open its casing.  you could then deal with the little blob of hate inside the case however you like.    Once the inner dalek is dead, the casing would remain there,  but you cant get inside yet.

Obviously dalek casings are made for Daleks and not for Humans,  there are parts in the way for a human to fit.  So you'd have to pick it up  ( by mining it )  then put it in a crafting table to receive a Hollowed out dalek casing,  this would get rid of the platform the dalek squid-lookin thing sits on and makes room for your human legs.

for the features, maybe an ammo system for the extermination ray,  durability or some other method to not make it overpowered and infinitely used

as for flying,  that might work,  but maybe be reserved as a beta or higher only thing on DMU?

The Dalek travel machine maybe?

This thread is mainly for specific armor types (that has a helmet, chestplate, etc.), and I feel that the DTM doesn't really fit in with this, as it would be a single item to wear or a vehicle that the player could ride.

This would probably work better in a thread of its own, with certain issues being addressed, as brought up by Ghostbuster3210.

Personally, I feel that the flying could be powered by zeiton 7 or something like this, infinitely flying would be too OP.

gotcha,  alright i might make a thread for it soon. otherwise i'll just forget about the idea in general

Thats actually a lot better Ghostbuster, but maybe you can color the dalek casing with a piece of dye in the crafting table. (Like one customizeable dalek machine) As for the dalek gun and ammo, a repairkit?

what about surround it with dye to change the color but other than that this is a great idea and i support this

Did some minor tweaks, and added TimeLord Armor variants.
